This project serves as an urban catalyst in Fortitude Valley, designed to strengthen the daytime economy and attract creative, tech, and city-fringe enterprises. Its architectural response celebrates the Valley’s diverse and independent character through adaptable floor plates that accommodate businesses of various scales. The design promotes productivity, wellbeing, and collaboration by integrating natural light, ventilation, and shared amenities, including a gym, lap pool, sky terraces, and outdoor balconies that blur the boundaries between work, recreation, and community.
Over several weeks, I led the project through schematic design and feasibility studies, balancing the architectural vision with commercial viability. A detailed feasibility review was undertaken to assess the impact of the building’s unconventional raked form against lettable GFA and construction costs, ensuring alignment with the client’s business objectives. Through this process, we achieved a refined and feasible design outcome, securing client sign-off and progressing the development through to a minor change application with the relevant authorities.

The architectural responds to a set of distinctive, natural, and urban site qualities and constraints.
