Heirloom is a collection of five exclusive full-floor residences, each spanning 343sqm, located on the riverfront at 4 Macdonald Street, Kangaroo Point. Designed for those who value privacy, scale, and timeless elegance, these homes offer uninterrupted views of the Brisbane River, Story Bridge, and city skyline, creating a truly exceptional riverfront living experience.

The building’s unique 28-metre bend responds to the site’s natural constraints and takes inspiration from the river’s gentle curve, giving the architecture a sculptural, flowing form. The façade features a fluted finish along continuous arching lines, developed collaboratively with consultants and builders to balance design ambition with constructability. Achieving this required a multi-method construction approach, combining pre-formed elements, cast-in-situ concrete, and blockwork, reflecting the project’s careful, considered approach to design detail.

Over the past six months, I have led Bureau Proberts’ delivery of the project, managing it from our London office and coordinating an intensive documentation phase to achieve a 40% construction package for tender within six weeks. I am now progressing the documentation into a full construction set, while managing purchaser variations and supporting the tender process.

This project has been an exciting opportunity to combine precision, creativity, and practical delivery, resulting in a sophisticated, functional, and carefully crafted riverfront home. Notably, achieving record-breaking pre-construction sales for internal square metre rates in Brisbane, highlighting the strong market response to its design and craftsmanship, ahead of construction scheduled for early next year.
