570–576 Coronation Drive is a site-responsive, 10-storey residential tower designed to engage with both the riverfront’s natural conditions and the surrounding urban context. The ground-level podium forms a cool, cavernous undercroft, welcoming a lush riparian landscape and providing refuge from street glare, while the tower maximises river frontage on a triangular site with an elegant, undulating façade softened by greenery.

Over several months, I led the project through the design development process, taking the concept to 100% completion. The building’s unconventional form required careful review of services across shifting floor plates and detailed coordination of regulatory requirements, including fire and egress compliance, to document an unorthodox yet fully compliant system.

These phases also involved extensive value management. I rationalised the sculptural façade from 30 panel sizes down to 8, maintaining design intent while reducing construction complexity, cost, and time. I continue to review the development and documentation of the battened screen, finalising placements to optimise acoustic performance, maximise views, and minimise glare, heat, and noise.
